I read the one with the Mediation teacher and it reminded me of the Emperors new clothes story. I think the understanding is not that the self gatecrashere exist but that it is not what it seems to be.

This book gatevrashers and should be your last in how to break through this last and most difficult gate of illusion. This said however, it is interesting to note as observed personallythat the pure pointing and pure unwavering ideas presented in this book, are not upheld to such an unwavering extent in the LU movement itself, particularly in more recent times which is unfortunate, but expected when movements become ‘public’ and ‘marketable to the masses’ and give in to softening the direct approach.

It seems like a letdown; a illumination only in that our linguistic symantics are fluid and we often mistake the gaeless for the moon. I became aware of a simple action I was doing with my fingers, rubbing one against the next, and realized I hadn’t willed it, or made any conscious effort to take this action. I’m glad I found this book. There is nothing that has to take anything personally. I’m also working with one of the ‘guides’ on the private forums they have a Liberation Unleashed. I think that trying to teach the phenomenon of gateldss self is not only very hard gatless, but possibly very dangerous.

Everything does not always have to be a permanent shift, the mind will oscillate between Self and Anatta anyway, depending upon the level of Insight, and the dependent upon the amount of Old habitual tendencies that can be worked through. Yes, agreed, the argument does not seem important, but in that state, I still find it easy to laugh at ironic things. Don’t worry; you’ll understand fully when you’re on the other side, so to speak. I got through with the first gatecrasher in the book, got up from the table to stretch my legs, and suddenly I got it-the cosmic joke.
But anywayI was reading this article, and it seemed pertinent to the gatelezs. Then again, I would also consider skipping a lot of the meditation I have done, especially the concentration meditations. It seems that for some people it ‘works’ really quickly, but for many others it doesn’t for whatever reason. This book recounts the journeys of twenty one ordinary people who dared to investigate whether the self they had always taken for real actually exists.
In general, and especially at the introductory stages, the LU site and movement is an excellent resource for those looking for a simple, unique and easily accessible way of challenging beliefs, and directly pointing to what is. I recommend it to anyone. I think this arises because there is still the ego mental formation in existence, and if the ego mental formation is negated intellectually, yet still exists, this is a paradox for the mind, and it gatdless spin in bewilderment.
