But presuming a wider sense of commitment, why not make the Lord’s Day a more intense time of sharing, encouraging all the inventiveness of which Christian charity is capable? What good is it if the Eucharistic table is overloaded with golden chalices, when he is dying of hunger?

As the seventh day blessed and consecrated by God, the “shabbat” concludes the whole work of creation, and is therefore immediately linked to the work of the sixth day when God made man “in his image and likeness” cf.
