The characters just weren’t believable for me and I don’t really feel like Savannah and Jackson’s relationship was really that special. In one chapter the mom and daughter have a fight Mom goes out and gets drunk brings man home, Mom realizes her mistake upon entering house, and daughter helps her get breaghing to leave. Will Savannah finally learn to breathe on her own?
And the author portrayed it in a beautiful fashion by creating a scenario where one boy can bring you all closer. And Breathing isn’t any of those other things. She is sure that he is the man she is waiting for.

She spent all her free time looking for a job for him, talking to him on the phone, thinking about him, the things were endless. He seems like the perfect boyfriend, and he is. All that and what seemed to me to be one really unnecessary scene with a church camp boy were rather off-putting. A summer romance kind of light read? Where I had my main issue was with Savannah’s character. But then she meets Jackson, who Savannah’s convinced is the one.
The thoughts and feelings of Savannah are exactly how I remember dealing with love, family, and trials then. By reading the summary, I expected Jackson to dump her after being breahing about returning to her.
This is a wonderful, refreshing debut novel about first love and growing up.

I often found myself thinking in an accent when writing this review even. We are experiencing technical difficulties. A perfect summer beach read! She was much too dependent on him in regards to her health, and maybe she just might realize how she can actually live day to day without everything revolving around Jackson.

My only complaint would be that at times I felt that Savannah was a little to overly dramatic but, other than that I really did enjoy this story! I felt particularly bad for Savannah during the portion of the book where she was separated from Jackson.
Despite that sympathy, I found her to be a bit melodramatic and immature at times, which got to be a bit much on my nerves.
